Road Trip 2010: Day 9

Yesterday was an expensive traveling day.  Nearly every road we took had a toll but were worse roads than the free ones.  We paid $67.40 in tolls - what exactly am I paying for???  The first one was a neat bridge though that went through the bay coming out of Virginia Beach.  It was really cool because two spots you went under water so there would be places for the boats to get through.

We also went through a lot of states - Virginia, Maryland (# 9), Delaware (#10), New Jersey (#11), New York (#12).  Having spent so much time in the Midwest growing up it always amazing me how many states you can hit in such a short period of time in the northeast.  We missed a picture of the Delaware sign and the New York one Sean was in charge of and it was dark (nuf said).  By the way, it's the Empire State (according to the sign).

We tried to stop in Bethany Beach, Delaware to eat crabs but due to it being a little early in the season to get them and this...

we couldn't.  Yep that's another ferry!  Neither of us had ever been on a car ferry before and now we've been on 3 in two days.  Duke of course assumed the position of hiding under the seat and we watched a short movie and had lunch (since we missed the crabs).

Next stop was Morristown, New Jersey so Sean can eat the hottest wing sauce ever - it's called 911.  They have a contest where you can try to eat 10 wings, soaked in the sauce, in 5 minutes without any other food or liquid.  They had a wall you would get your name on and probably a t-shirt or something.  You had to sign a waiver to do it - Sean opted not to try that but we did try the sauce.  These should say everything...

In case you're wondering, I did try the sauce too but not nearly as much as Sean did.  YES - IT WAS HOT!  We ended the day in Kingston, New York which is in the Catskill Mountains.  I'll have to show those pictures tomorrow since it was too dark to see anything.  Our trip is almost to a close and we're both really getting sad about that.  Only two more days and we'll be there - I think Duke will be glad.
