Saturday morning Sean and I got up and ran a couple of errands. One of the errands required us to head to Brian's house to pick up the trailer so we could get some stuff at Lowe's. Brian lives near where Sean grew up and the boys used to run around playing in the woods sledding and such when they were younger. Brian had told Sean about all the building they're getting ready to do near his house. It seems they're going to put in some new housing communities. Since Sean has a Jeep he was excited to check these new roads out. So far they have cleared the trees out and have a dirt road. It was apparent where they had made it to in making the road as the farther we got down the road the bumpier the road was. Duke nearly flew out of my lap at points in the ride and I found out he needs his nails trimmed. When we got to the end of the first road we decided to get out and let Duke run around and run around he did!!! He absolutely loved it. We're lucky though as he doesn't go far from us. He was all about sniffing and marking his new "territory".
Duke checking out the new road.
Fall is maybe starting to become my favorite time of year. The changing of the leaves is amazing in New England.
The second road we went down actually ended up just doing a loop and taking us back to the original road. On this road we ended up finding where they are currently storing all the trees they cut down. This should give you a perspective as to just how tall this pile of wood was. Oh and the smell was so AMAZING!!!
Duke climbed up the pile of wood. We had to yell at him so he didn't get too far. I could just see him slipping and falling in there and having to send Sean in after him! LOL
Duke looking oh so cute up on the logs!
This should show you how long the logs were.
I was so fascinated with the pile of logs. The size of the pile, the randomness of the way they piled them up, the smell, how many there were, etc, etc, etc is what fascinated me.
This one really shows the randomness of the way they piled them up.
Duke and me under the pile of woods. We didn't stay long as it creeped me out.
As we continued to drive we came across the machinery they were using to cut down the trees. If you've ever watched the show American Loggers you've seen them use the equipment. It's pretty amazing.
This shows you how big the arm of this grabber thing really is.
Look how big this tire is!
oh dear!
