semi-annual guzzy trip #1

after many discussions

we decided we'd give driving a try

when we switch between texas and maine

so meet guzzy

our first "move" started with a stop in kansas to see my nephews graduate high school

then we headed to the kansas city area to see our friend's new baby

with the graduation and sean's birthday so close together

we had to make good time

but we still made time to see the worlds largest wind chime

and golf tee

although we had some really long days

we also got to relax in the evenings

we also got to see beautiful places like this stop in vermont
which i wish we could have seen for longer!

we were greeted to camp with surprises from friends

and immediately headed out to enjoy a birthday treat for sean

and in case you're wondering
duke is not much of a fan of guzzy
she makes too much noise for him!

spring flowers

we headed out to trail ride again
you may remember we go 1-2 times a year
down to our friend's family's ranch

if the conditions are just right
the wildflowers are amazing

this time was one of those years!

texas visitors

we don't get many visitors in texas
i guess it's not as picturesque or something
but this year my brother and his family came for a visit on their spring break
we did all sorts of things - like taking guzzy for an overnight trip

a stop at the fort worth stockyards

to see the rodeo

then it was off to dinosaur world

which happens to be pet friendly - which we love

then it was back home to help uncle sean feed the birds

and the dallas aquarium

and finally, we rounded out the fun with some easter egg coloring

it was a blast and we can't wait for them to come back!

chopped party

not sure if i've blogged about this before or not
but in case i haven't
each year, we have a chopped party with our friends
what's a chopped party, you ask?
have you seen the show chopped on food network
it's like that
you have 3 rounds - appetizer, entree and dessert
you have a basket of mystery ingredients
that you have to make something edible with

and in case you were wondering
some of these concoctions require a little help

winter nature

sean cares a lot about nature

the four legged

or the winged type

and always makes sure they are well fed

which i'm sure they appreciate when we have our few days of "bad" weather

christmas

this year we spent christmas with my family in kansas

of course santa visited duke

and he had a great time opening his stocking

mom was brought into today's time

my niece had a new puppy

we headed up to kansas to visit my family for thanksgiving

i forgot to take my camera out except once

to capture duke hoping to get spoiled

when something "accidentally" falls on the floor
