lately

more guests and more tubing...

but this may have been the last weekend for tossing
unfortunately fall is in the air

the loons have really gotten close to camp this summer
usually in the morning
how can your day not be good when it starts with a view like this?!?!
oh and if you've never heard them...maybe i'll try to get a video so you can
it's one of the things that made me fall in love with maine

these are everywhere - on the house, screen door, everywhere
i'm told they'll turn to butterflies
we ought to have our very own butterfly sanctuary once that happens there's so many of them around

been enjoying the wild berry bush harvests

did i mention fall is in the air?
went up to cadillac mountain with some visitors and found these

oh, and TODAY IS MY MOMMY'S BIRTHDAY!!!

one tree at a time

maine has a ton of trees
we're talking TON

and camp is no different
we're talking so many we don't really have sun for me to have a veggie garden
and we're not allowed to cut any down
but yet we plant more

or rather sean and the neighbor plant more
with duke's help, of course

so maybe duke isn't much help
he just gets into mischief

mischief that takes about 30 minutes for me to get him out of
or to get out of his fur

we determined we were totally up for the challenge!

you can check out more of our planking fun over here on amy's blog

she even has a video...she's fancy like that...

won't you join the planking craze???

another set of visitors have come and gone
one more set this weekend and then we have a break
my friend susan from new york brought a friend that had never been to this part of maine
of course we had some lake activities

all the water beauty was in full bloom

we also took a day trip to the top of cadillac mountain

and stopped off at the jordan pond house for a popover

and a beautiful view

and you know how much i love a pet friendly place

- now if duke only knew he really is a dog

campstock

we've had a lot of visitors over the last week - including hosting the first annual campstock!
what is campstock you ask?
it's an excuse to have a bunch of friends over to enjoy a little water fun and camping out
there was some time spent with family (sean's brother and nephew were visiting)...

learning new things...

including uncle sean taking the little one for a tube ride...

of course there was some adult tubing time...

which led to breaking the boat (but don't worry it's all fixed and ready for more tubing this weekend)...

of course there was lots of eating...

and the newest favorite - the lily pad - which we borrowed from the neighbor (but will definitely be getting one of our own next year)...

thanks to everyone for coming out and making the weekend so much fun - so much fun that there just may be a second annual...

the couch

so tubing isn't your thing?
maybe sitting on the couch enjoying the day is more your speed
well we have just the thing for you

we've been doing a test run with the neighbor's new toy

this thing is virtually impossible to dump
unless your tow rope breaks of course

it does get some good air

but i think i still prefer the tube
********************************************
thanks to my honey for taking the awesome pics of us girls in action!

two years!

we've officially made it to two years of wedded bliss!
and yes, i'm still calling it wedded bliss
because it truly is!

i think when you wait as long as i did to find "the one", he really is
it has its advantages and disadvantages though
advantage - you've gotten your independence out of your system and know what you want
disadvantage - you've been single so long you're pretty set in your own ways

with each passing day i learn to love him more than the day before
as i try to accept the independent ways he's set for himself
and he tries to accept mine

i wouldn't change my life with sean and duke for anything
i think we have a pretty amazing family and life together

as for our plans to celebrate?
i'm laying in a hotel bed enjoying the beautiful flowers my honey had waiting for me when i checked in
(even though i changed hotels at the last minute and completely freaked him out)

it helps some but, truth be told, i'd rather be spending it with my family, cuddling on the couch
